What Is Psilocybin Therapy?
The nature of life is characterized by polarity, encompassing both lightness and darkness. Alongside joys and successes, humans have endured trauma and hardships since the beginning of time. And for millennia, indigenous peoples have used psilocybin journeys to help soothe the soul and find deeper spiritual meaning. More recently, this ancient ritual has come full circle, now recognized as both a sacred journey and a powerful form of psychotherapy.
Perhaps you are ready to address trauma, depression, or anxiety in a profound way—to face and address its root causes, while viewing yourself with more compassion and insight. An individual mushroom journey offers deeper layers of healing—an opportunity to access existential and emotional healing, cultivate meaning and purpose, and experience true fullness and connection to the universe. For couples, psilocybin therapy provides a shared experience to open together, a chance to see yourself in relationship, and be witnessed by your love, gaining greater closeness and moving through relational blocks.
Taken in a sacred, safe, and guided container, a psilocybin journey allows you to see yourself with greater clarity—your light, your shadow, the way you express yourself in the world versus what lives inside of you—and work towards greater congruency and integration. Psilocybin therapy works on many levels—as a sacred experience that expands your perception of self, as a healing journey that offers relief from existential distress, and as a pathway to reset and rewire the brain towards a healthier, more authentic version of yourself.
How Psilocybin Journeys Are Structured
As a licensed psilocybin facilitator, my role is to meet you where you are, whether or not you have experience with therapy and psychedelic medicine. There’s no “wrong” way to show up for plant medicine—wherever you are in your healing journey is the right place, and I am here to support you.
Before your journey, we will dedicate 2-3 sessions to preparation. This is when you will set foundational intentions for your journey, learn grounding techniques for nervous system regulation, and build trust and rapport with me. I will also explain how different mushroom dosages impact the intensity of your journey so you can decide which level you would prefer.
Your journey will take place at a licensed healing center, where you will lie down on a soft mat or a bed with blankets. Eye shades are encouraged for the first segment of your journey, to support connection with your inner healing guide and the medicine itself. Music that follows the arc of the journey is also provided. A journey will last anywhere from 5 to 8 hours. I will stay with you throughout, following the tail of the comet in whatever way is helpful.
Psychedelics are non-specific amplifiers, so we can never entirely predict what will happen once the psilocybin takes effect. You may feel wonderful, open, silly, sad, challenged, or connected. Everybody's journey is uniquely their own—the medicine will reveal what needs to be unearthed for change and healing to happen.
How you explore and retain this mystical experience directly correlates to its benefit. After your journey, we will schedule 2-3 therapy sessions to integrate your experience, exploring insights and breakthroughs so you can weave the wisdom you gain into your life. Psilocybin integration can take many forms, such as writing down your experience or creating artwork as a tangible reminder of your sacred journey.

Psilocybin Therapy For Couples And Groups
A psilocybin journey focused on the connection with your partner can be a profound exploration of your relationship. This shared experience can break down defensive walls that may have formed, fostering more profound openness, compassion, and unity while helping healthier relational patterns to emerge.
In a group setting, psilocybin mushrooms can show you the true nature of divine healing and community. Bringing people together with an element of connective tissue—such as family members, healers, empty nesters, or those experiencing grief—can be transformative, supporting those on the collective journey to find more openness, wisdom, and understanding through shared experience.
Who Can Benefit From Psilocybin Therapy?
To experience a true paradigm shift, we must start by changing our internal world, which makes a mushroom journey a powerful tool for transformation. Psilocybin therapy is suitable for those who feel the call to experience profound healing that transcends the constraints of daily life. These psychonauts wish to build a sacred relationship with the medicine, allowing them to access unfettered consciousness and tap into the healing intelligence of self, the earth, and the universe as a whole. That said, psilocybin therapy isn’t for everyone—please contact me to discuss the contraindications and determine whether you would be a good fit.
Psilocybin is considered a psychoplastogen, a fast-acting therapeutic capable of rapidly promoting structural and functional neural plasticity. Known as the “Snow Globe” effect, psilocybin-assisted therapy can disrupt entrenched loops of trauma, rumination, and depression in the brain.
With proper integration of your journey, you can synthesize this mystical experience to foster deeper healing and shifts in perspective. Psilocybin therapy can address sticking points such as grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and end-of-life distress.
Going back millennia, Indigenous Mesoamerican cultures embarked on mushroom journeys to gain wisdom and heal emotional wounds. In recent years, numerous scientific studies have confirmed that psilocybin treatment can act as a catalyst for big change. In research on PTSD conducted in 2025, “Studies have shown that psilocybin can facilitate profound psychological experiences characterized by heightened emotional processing and insight. These experiences, often described as mystical or transcendental, are believed to contribute to therapeutic outcomes by fostering a sense of interconnectedness and personal meaning.”
Why Psilocybin Psychotherapy Is Such An Important Part Of My Practice
I have been trained by the Integrative Psychiatric Institute in psychedelic therapy and am a registered Natural Medicine Facilitator in Training in the state of Colorado. I have also completed state-mandated training in psilocybin psychotherapy, which includes learning about its history, clinical applications, and research efficacy.
Additionally, I have personal experience with plant medicine journeys and the potent soul-searching they offer. I have worked with indigenous elders to connect to myself and the universe using ancient methods. Psilocybin therapy is an exciting step toward expanding our understanding of healing and empowering clients to connect with their inner healing guide.
Psychedelics are revolutionizing the field of therapy. I am honored, humbled, and excited to be carrying this age-old healing wisdom into the modern field of psychotherapy. Research is giving scientific validation to what ancient peoples knew and practiced: healing comes from deepened and expanded consciousness and connections. The field of psychedelic therapy drew me in due to its lineage from traditional and indigenous healing modalities, ties to the earth, and emphasis on empowering clients. I am eager to share this healing ritual with you.
